As a cluster, we firmly believe that the success of any partnership depends on maintaining high levels of trust with all partners. We work with any school within the cluster at risk of falling standards or who are encountering difficulty to identify appropriate strategies or interventions, sharing our expertise of having dealt with a similar situation in a different context. The ultimate aim will always be to contribute significantly to improving the outcomes for children through developing the capacity of leadership within the cluster.
Selected Headteachers will work alongside the SLT and identified middle/senior leaders will work with middle and/or senior leaders to undertake the following:
- Consider identified school’s self-review written prior to initial visit
- Carry out diagnostic visits.
- Supply an in depth report focusing on the school’s current practice with proposed recommendations
- Write action plans, identifying key priorities and SMART targets within 10 days of being alerted.
- Provide one-to- one or group support.
- Offer coaching and mentoring support.
- Provide access to resources and training
- Offer cluster contribution towards the costs of raising standards within the setting
- Report the outcomes of the support to Governors
- Report to the cluster on grant spend, impact and outcomes at regular intervals
Non-negotiables are in place to ensure that the impact of the support is successful and drives forward school improvement. The criteria for support is:
The schools giving support have been judged to be at least good under the old framework or met/expected in the area they are supporting with.
The capacity to co-ordinate and oversee high quality support to ensure impact and sustainability within the identified school
Dedicated commitment to the identified school to support them raise standards.
