Transition can be a worrying time for any child. We realise that for some children, moving to a new class or school is exciting, and they look forward to the challenge. For other children, the idea of moving on can be a real challenge. Whether you are a new or existing pupil at Town End, we want to make sure you achieve and feel happy, confident and safe.

At Town End, we work to ensure that children are at the centre of the decisions made when considering new classes. We consider a range of factors to support your child: who they work best with; the kind of adults they work well with; their own voice and opinions as well as the opinions and voice of staff, professionals and parents. When your child prepares to come to us, we work closely with feeder schools and colleagues to get to know your child, their needs, and what helps them learn best. For children who are already at Town End, we use our knowledge of your child to help prepare them for the next step of their journey.
